BUSINESS LETTER

February 17, 2009

Mrs. Christine Berg

Speed Time Gym

2951 Figueroa St.

Pasadena, CA 91105

Dear Mrs. Berg:

For several years, I have been attending fitness clubs. Working out for me is synonymous with health. Actually, I am a member of your gym for 3 months. I am very satisfied with the machines that you provide, the cleanliness and your staff.

I want you to know that there are many of yours clients using these machines in an improper manner with great possibilities of self-injury.  There is no staff close to instruct them of the proper usage.  I would like to know why there is not a trainer always supervising and helping them? It could prevent serious unnecessary injuries or damages to your clients and also to your gym’s reputation.

I will be happy to meet with you to discuss this matter further.

Thank you for your time

Sincerely

Erika Diamante

TEARS FOR FREEDOM

TEARS FOR FREEDOM is a film of politics, corruption, violence, murder and love, set in 1998 in Cuba and in the United States. This movie tells the story of a young boy who left his country searching for a new beginning.

Sad experiences in a struggling society, hard life and being so far away from his family in a foreign country, made him wish he could go back to Cuba. But he didn’t know that he could never return home.

MY CHOICE

I was in the last semester of my acting school. I was very proud of it. It was my dream to be a famous actor.

When I was young I loved to go to the movies. My mother was a theatre actress. She was in several shows and I was always with her. She always told me that acting is a career with many sacrifices. But I wanted to be an actor.

Then I had lived my little home town to go to the big city to study at the best acting school. It was wonderful, one of my teachers was R. W. I loved attending his classes.
Sometimes after classes I took my books and went to the library to study. I couldn't imagine that I would meet Alice, my future wife.
She is a pretty girl and very smart too. She came from France."Bonjour, mom petit!" Alice said, that's how she would greet me. I loved it!!! I think French is a sweet and a romantic language.

As time passed the opportunities were coming more and more. One day in New York, another day in Chicago and I was always traveling. One of these times I was at the airport and I saw my favorite pop star actress arriving. This was an exciting and a special moment for me. When she arrived there were many paparazzis and people surrounding her. It was terrible for me. I stopped and thought about this scene and asked myself. Is this the life that I want? Without privacy, no peace of mine? The answer you know. I 'm having a cup of coffee in a complete anonymated. That is My Choice.

LIVING IN THE UNITED STATES

Most of the people want to live in the United States. Why does a person leave their home country? There are many different reasons. Maybe to get a job, learn another language, live new experiences, join their family or maybe for love. Love is my reason.

I am new in America. I have been here for almost 5 months. I came from Blumenau Santa Catarina Brazil. Blumenau is a small city of Germanic colonization. The population is almost 300,000. Blumenau is famous for their Oktoberfest, it happiness for 17 days in October. It’s the second largest beer fest in the world. The first is in Germany.

Two years ago I met my husband in Blumenau, when he went to Rio de Janeiro to Carnaval. After that he returned to Brazil to be with me several times. But you know, long distance romances usually don’t work. So we decided to get married in the USA. Where? In Las Vegas the most popular place to get married in the USA.

Then I came to America and I arrived in Los Angeles. It’s a complete different life. Beginning with the language, more traffic, different traffic laws, large highways, longer distances between destinations. There are also too many fast food restaurants. Life here is fast. Everybody rushes and works a lot. The government is very complicated. There are many many taxes. The cost of living is very expensive. There is too much burocracy and many immigration documents.

Actually I am studying English because I want to be successful in this country and get a good career. It's a new challenge for me. The life in the United States isn’t like many people think. Most of the people want to live the American Dream, but they don’t really know how hard life is here.

IT'S IMPORTANT TO SPEAK JAPANESE (joke)

The neighbor went to visit his japanese best friend at the Intensive Care Unit, because he had a serious automobile accident.

He found his friend, fill of tubes. There were in his nose, in his arms and all over his small body. He stood close to him, in silent. He was next to his bed watching the sad situation.

Suddenly, the japanese, closed his eyes and started to scream:
SAKARO AOTA NAKAMY ANYOBA SUSHI, MASHUTA, MASHUTA, MASHUTA!!!!!!!!!

After these words, he opened his mouth and died. The last words from these special friend, he will never forget.

At his funeral, he met his mother and his widow, hugging them, he asked: Mrs. Fumiko and Mrs. Shakita, my friend, seconds before he died, he told me these words that I can't forget.
SAKARO AOTA NAKAMY ANYOBA SUSHI, MASHUTA, MASHUTA, MASHUTA!!!!!!!

What does it means?

Mrs. Fumiko, immediately fainted and the widow looked at him surprise.

What does it means??? He asked again.

The widow looked at him and said:
